Peacemakers

        • We want a world where people are equipped to deal peacefully and creatively with the inevitable conflicts that arise for all of us.

We work with schools, units, clubs, committees, teams, collectives and groups of people regardless of age or anything else.

We support people within communities to build, strengthen and repair relationships at all levels.

Open Space ~ A place for people working in schools, to come together.

This is a single event.

Looking for a space in the noise being created by the pandemic right now? Then come and join us for some down-time with colleagues working in schools.

Our open spaces offer an opportunity for a chat or some quiet time with others who know what it’s like working in education right now. This is not training. You won’t go away with resources or teaching ideas. This is about you. It’s a chance to take some time out for yourself and to go away feeling more refreshed.

We have three Open Spaces on offer:

Corona off-limits

This space is for those of you who don’t want to talk about the pandemic. We can chat about anything but…. books, film, travel, board games, philosophy – we might find some common interests, or generate interest in something unusual or curious. Bring something to share if you like. Every Monday, 4-5pm, starting 25th January 2021.

Listening Space

This is space for those of you who are finding work in school challenging right now and want to share, or be in a space with colleagues who will just listen to what you have to say. There will be no judgement, no telling you what to do, just empathic listening.  Every Wednesday, 7-8pm, starting 27th January 2021.

Meditation Space

This is space for you to be taken through a guided meditation at the end of a busy day. An opportunity to unwind and be held in a calm space before heading off home for the day or logging off the computer.  No previous experience of meditation is necessary.  Every Thursday, 4-4:30pm, starting 28th January 2021.

About Peacemakers Open Spaces

These spaces are free to attend – they are our offer to you as valued colleagues. Sara, Jackie and Libbs from Peacemakers will facilitate the spaces. We will set out some guidelines with you at the beginning of the session and then it’s over to you.

Register your interest for a zoom link and password. This zoom link will be used for every session so you only need to register once. This is to make access as easy as possible for you and to make administration simpler for us.  We ask that you do not share the password or zoom link with anyone or post it on social media– but feel free to direct people to us to register. This is to safeguard us all.

When you come online, you will not be asked to share the name of your school or your role, and you only need to post your first name on zoom. We want the focus to be on you as an individual rather than your role or your school.

In sessions where there are more than 10 people, we may make use of break out rooms.

If you are interested in an open space but the times don’t work for you, please let us know. [If the times don’t work for many people, we may be able to set up a different schedule].

Open Spaces will continue until the Easter Holidays. You can register anytime and attend as many or as few sessions as you like.
