New Job – Quaker Peace and Social Witness

Do you have a life commitment to working for peace? This could be an amazing opportunity. Britain Yearly Meeting, the organising body for Quakers in Britain, is looking for enthusiastic people who want to develop a place with an organisation we think will match your interests and skills. Recent peaceworkers have been placed with Child Soldiers International, BASIC (British American Security Information Council), CND, War Resisters International, Medact, Campaign Against Arms Trade, Scientists for Global Responsibility, Tim Parry Jonathan Ball Foundation for Peace, the Peace Pledge Union and LEAP Confronting Conflict. The work will be varied and project specific.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a passion and commitment to peace work, as well as sympathy with Quaker values. You’ll be adaptable, able to work on your own initiative and inside a team. Transferable skills, like administration, protesting, educating, running events or digital communications, could be an advantage.

We are always open to bold, confident and radical new projects, and particularly encourage placements in parts of Britain outside London. Placements will included a short preparation period in August. We regret that we are unable to accept applications from candidates without existing permission to work in the UK.
