3 day training: Thursday 4th, 11th and 18th June 2020 – participants must attend all three days
What is a Restorative Approach?
A restorative approach offers schools an alternative way of addressing discipline and behavioural issues and offers a consistent framework for responding to these issues. The aim of this training is to contribute to the building of a strong, mutually respectful, safe, inclusive and peaceful school community. This course provides intensive, interactive facilitator training, focusing on an understanding of restorative ethos and the practice of sound restorative practitioner skills. This course has met the Restorative Justice Council’s (RJC) training standards and has been awarded a Training Provider Quality Mark. This course will be delivered by an RJC Accredited Practitioner.
Who is this course for?
This 3-day Restorative Practitioner training course is for people working in education, social care, health and community settings and will equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to use a formal restorative conference facilitation process to resolve conflict and repair harm.
The course introduces participants to the philosophy and language of restorative practices. It also engages participants in identifying how to apply this innovative and relational way of dealing with conflict in their setting. Delegates have the opportunity to look at how to use restorative circles and informal restorative chats to create positive, caring and compassionate learning environments. Some action planning is included as part of the course so that you leave with concrete ‘next steps’ for your organisation.
You will be provided with some pre-course materials and a course handbook. You will be contacted during the week to share learning and relevant resources from the day. Support continues after the course with a follow-up phone call to see how the restorative work is progressing.
Throughout the training days, there will be refreshments and a lovely lunch. Peacemakers will nourish your belly as well as your mind!
You can book via Eventbrite or contact Yvonne at firstname.lastname@example.org for a booking form.
